Course Overview

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is for students who want to have a positive impact in the lives of others living with disability. Improve your knowledge and skills and enhance proficiency in emotional well-being, participation and inclusion, working with carers and more.

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) incorporates a work experience element, enabling you to apply the theory and skills you learn in the workplace. Studying this course will increase your skills in the areas of:

Qualification Level Certificate III
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions Over 17 years old, not attending secondary school. Must complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. To complete vocational placement requirements, students must also; be able to pass a NDIS check, police check and be fully vaccinated.
Nominal Duration 19 weeks including vocational placement
Attendance 2 - 3 days per week
Assessment Methods Short Answer Questions, Case Studies, Role Plays, Projects, Skills Observations, Vocational Placement
Delivery Method Face to Face learning + vocational placement
Course Materials All materials are included.
Vocational Placement Students need to obtain experience in a relevant workplace and satisfactorily demonstrate a series of skills. The minimum number of hours required as part of this placement is 120. Placement may be voluntary work or paid employment in a relevant role.
ONLINE

Qualification Level Certificate III
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions Over 17 years old, not attending secondary school. Must complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. To complete vocational placement requirements, students must also; be able to pass a NDIS check, police check and be fully vaccinated.

Students must be currently working in a disability support role to complete the required assessments online. Students not currently working in the industry can study on campus.

Delivery Method Online learning + vocational placement
Course Materials Learning materials are all provided online via the elearning portal.
Vocational Placement Students need to obtain experience in a relevant workplace and satisfactorily demonstrate a series of skills. The minimum number of hours required as part of this placement is 120. Placement may be voluntary work or paid employment in a relevant role.
Resource Requirements Students must have their own access to computer and internet to access the course materials. Students are also need a webcam, camera or other recording device to be able to record role plays

Qualification Level Certificate III
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions Existing or new worker in the industry. Over 17 years old, not attending secondary school. Must complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. To complete vocational placement requirements, students must also; be able to pass a NDIS check, police check and be fully vaccinated.
Nominal Duration 6-12 months
