Certificate II in Community Services

Course Overview

The Certificate II in Community Services is designed to develop a broad range of competencies and skills. This qualification will prepare you to work in a range of community service roles such as Aged Care, Disability, Youth Work and others. It prepares you for case management, individual needs planning, health and well-being strategies, working with disabilities, cultural diversity and working with at-risk individuals. The Certificate II in Community Services also incorporates a work experience element that will enable you to put into practice the theory and skills you will learn.

Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions 15 years or older attending secondary school.
Nominal Duration 20 weeks incl. vocational placement
Attendance Delivered within regular school periods
Assessment Methods Short Answer Questions, Case Studies, Role Plays, Projects, Skills Observations, Vocational Placement
Delivery Method Face to Face learning + vocational placement
Course Materials All course materials are included
Vocational Placement Minimum 20 hours vocational placement required at a relevant workplace. Placement may be voluntary work or paid employment in a relevant role. Students are required to obtain the site-specific clearances to participate in Vocational Placement, this may include Disability clearance, Working with children check or police checks
