The Smart and Skilled program provides eligible individuals (who are living or working in NSW) with an opportunity to complete qualifications subsidised by the New South Wales Government. Smart and Skilled is grouped into two programs - Smart and Skilled Entitlement and Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities.
Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities program includes full qualifications including, Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels (depending on the availability of funding for these courses) and Pre-vocational and part qualifications, including skill sets (are subject to funding availability).
Smart and Skilled Entitlement includes qualifications ranging from Certificate I through to Certificate III and Apprenticeships and new-entrant traineeship qualifications at all levels.
Subsidised training
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. The course fee is determined by the NSW provider calculator, please contact a Strategix representative to obtain a quote.
Through the Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities program, eligible participants can undertake subsidised nationally accredited training in two areas; Full Qualifications and, Pre-vocational and Part Qualifications.
Full Qualifications - Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma full qualifications. People who meet the Smart and Skilled eligibility conditions can enrol in subsidised training at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level, depending on the availability of funding for these courses.
Pre-vocational and Part Qualifications, including skill sets. These are targeted at key groups and sectors and are subject to funding availability.
You may be eligible for the Smart and Skilled funding if you meet all the following requirements:
You are 15 years of age or older
Have finished or left secondary school
Living or working in NSW (or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific NSW border areas)
An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand
