Course Overview

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is designed to develop a broad range of competencies and skills. The demand for aged care, support workers and caregivers in the community sector is increasing. Employers small and large are seeking individuals with the relevant qualifications, skills and a passion to help and care for others. Learn the skills and gain knowledge that will prepare you for a job in this varied industry. Through the Strategix Certificate III in Individual Support, you will be equipped for a position as a nursing assistant, personal carer, aged care worker, disability worker or a range of other jobs. The Certificate III in Individual Support also incorporates a work experience element so you will get to put into practice the theory & skills you learn. Qualification Level Certificate III
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions Over 17 years old, not attending secondary school. Must complete a language, literacy and numeracy test at induction. Students will also be required to have the flu shot and Covid vaccine to work in the industry and before commencing placement.
Nominal Duration 15 weeks face to face + 5 weeks vocational placement
Attendance 2 - 3 days per week
Assessment Methods Short Answer Questions, Case Studies, Role Plays, Projects, Skills Observations, Vocational Placement
Delivery Method Face to Face learning + vocational placement
Course Materials All course materials are included
Vocational Placement Minimum 120 hours vocational placement required at a relevant workplace. Placement may be voluntary work or paid employment in a relevant role. Students require federal police check. Students are not required to pay the fee for the check. Persons accessing NDIS clients will also require a Disability Clearance, this is completed with the host or employer.
SA CAMPUS

Qualification Level Certificate III

NSW WORKPLACE

Qualification Level Certificate III
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions Must be currently working in a relevant support role in the aged care industry.
Nominal Duration 12 months (course length may be adjusted depending on student progression/needs)

Delivery Method Combination of visits and online learning
Course Materials All course materials are included and provided via our online portal
Vocational Placement Students must complete a series of work tasks and provide evidence of having worked a minimum of 120 hours in an individual support role to complete this qualification.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Qualification Level Certificate III
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions Must be an International Student on a student visa (subclass 500). IELTS 5.5 or equivalent English language test result or the completion of 12-week Strategix IELTS Preparation program. Yr 12 equivalent (High School Graduate Certificate). Students will also be required to have the flu shot and Covid vaccine to work in the industry and before commencing placement.
