Course Overview

Developed within the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard, the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, will prepare you to work in a range of community service roles. These roles include Child Education, Community and Personal Service worker, Child Care, designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services, and related administrative and clerical roles. Workers at this level may also have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers. This course is best suited to those who have some previous experience working within the early childhood education and care sector, those who have completed certificate level training or Athose who are looking for a pathway into higher level university courses. The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care also incorporates a work experience element so you will get to put into practice the theory & skills you learn. Qualification Level	Diploma
Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions	Over 17 years old, not attending secondary school. Must have previously completed the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113 or CHC30121). Must also complete a language, literacy and numeracy test
Nominal Duration	12 months face to face + 280 hours vocational placement
Attendance	2 - 3 days per week
Assessment Methods	Short Answer Questions, Case Studies, Role Plays, Projects, Skills Observations, Vocational Placement
Delivery Method	Face to Face learning + vocational placement
Course Materials	All course materials are included
Vocational Placement	Minimum 280 hours vocational placement required at a relevant workplace. Placement may be voluntary work or paid employment in a relevant role. Students must be able to pass a working with children check, some organisations may also request a police check and require workers to be fully vaccinated. Some VP tasks need to be directly observed by a Strategix assessor whilst in the workplace. Placement needs to be undertaken within the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions to enable a Strategix assessor to attend.

Vocational Placement	Minimum 280 hours vocational placement required at a relevant workplace. Placement may be voluntary work or paid employment in a relevant role. Some VP tasks need to be directly observed by a Strategix assessor whilst in the workplace. Placement needs to be undertaken within 30km radius of Elizabeth to enable a Strategix assessor to attend.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Pre-requisites / Entry Conditions	Must be an International Student on a student visa (subclass 500). IELTS 5.5 or equivalent English language test result or the completion of 12-week Strategix IELTS Preparation program. Yr 12 equivalent (High School Graduate Certificate) Students must complete Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113 or CHC30121) before they can commence the Diploma.
