Course Overview

The Introduction to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation First Aid Skill Set gives you the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently in emergency situations and begin a career in the caring sector.

Through a combination of hands-on training and guided learning, you’ll develop the ability to recognise and respond to medical emergencies, perform CPR, provide first aid, and support the health and safety of people in your care. You’ll also learn important workplace communication skills and basic food safety practices that are commonly required in aged care, disability support, and community services roles.

This course covers nationally recognised units including:

  1. HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  2. HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
  3. HLTAID011 – Provide first aid
  4. HLTFSE001 – Follow basic food safety practices
  5. CHCCOM005 – Communicate and work in the health and community services industry

  • On successful completion of the, you'll have your full first aid certificate (3 year expiry) including your CPR certificate (12 month expiry). You’ll be able to respond confidently in emergency situations, support the health and safety of others in care, follow safe food handling practices, and communicate effectively within health and community services settings.

    • LLN suitability to understand training materials, follow emergency procedures, and complete basic workplace documentation.
