Course Overview

The Introduction to Transport – HR Skill Set gives you the essential training and confidence to step into one of Australia’s most in-demand industries. Over 7 days — including 2 days in class and 5 days behind the wheel — you’ll learn to inspect heavy vehicles, load and secure cargo safely, and develop the driving skills needed to gain your HR (Heavy Rigid) Truck Licence.

This hands-on course blends classroom learning with real-world experience, covering nationally recognised units

1. TLIB0002 Carry Out Vehicle Inspection and

2. TLID0015 Load and Unload Goods/Cargo.

Please note: Successful completion of the driver test will enable the student to apply for their HR licence with Queensland Transport. Queensland Transport fees are paid by the student and not included as part of the course

    What you will study

    Necessary Documents:
    • Valid photo ID as required by your state/territory regulator (e.g., driver licence, passport, proof of age)
    • USI (Unique Student Identifier) — create/find at usi.gov.au before enrolment using your legal name
    • Any regulator forms/photos and fees for the HR licence application (post‑assessment)
    You must have:
    • Minimum age: 18+
    • Must hold a Class C (car) driver's licence for at least 2 years or an LR/MR licence for at least 1 year
    • LLN suitability for workplace documentation, manifests, and electronic systems
    • Ability to meet role demands (e.g., manual handling, shift/night work, regional travel)
    • White card or site inductions where applicable; high‑vis/PPE for practical training
