About the Training
The joint Australian and South Australian Government initiative provides eligible First Nations people with free tuition in priority training areas, creating greater opportunities to access education and skills development.
Fully subsidised training (fee-free)
The Queensland Government provides "Jobseeker Support" to eligible individuals who are completing short courses designed to help gain employment. For applicable training, Jobseeker Support funding will cover the full cost of a course for eligible students.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for Fee Free training if you meet all of the following criteria:
- Identify as a First Nations person
- Must be a new student to the course (does not need to be new to the training provider)
- Reside or work in South Australia
and
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
- Be a permanent Australian residents; or
- Hold a State sponsored visa on a pathway to permanent residency; or
- Hold a humanitarian temporary visa of a class specified by the Minister from time to time; and
- An eligible visa holder (See Eligible visas).
- Be aged 16 years or over, not enrolled in school.
- Must be enrolled and have training accounts created before 31st December 2025 in any of the qualifications below:
- CHC40421 - Certificate IV in Youth Work
- CHC33021 - Certificate lll in Individual Support
- CHC30121 Certificate lll in Early Childhood Education and Care
- CHCSS00130 - Individual Support - Disability Skill Set
- FBP30121 - Certificate lll in Food Processing
- CHC32015 - Certificate lll in Community Services
