    Additional Information

This class is delivered through structured online learning.

Structured Online learning offers the best of both worlds — the flexibility of studying from home with the support of a guided classroom experience. Students join their facilitator and classmates in live Zoom sessions for 1–2 hours each day, building skills together, asking questions in real time, and staying connected throughout the course.

Between sessions, students complete structured independent learning activities designed to reinforce what’s been covered and prepare for the next class. It’s a dynamic, engaging way to learn that keeps you motivated and supported every step of the way.

To get the most out of this experience, students will need access to a computer, laptop, or other personal device with a webcam. Please note that a mobile phone or tablet can be used for participating in the live Zoom sessions but will not be suitable for completing the assessment requirements of this course.

    What you will study

Build practical, person‑centred skills to support individuals, families, and communities—communicating effectively, working with diversity, promoting wellbeing and inclusion, following legal, ethical, child‑safe and WHS practices, using digital tools for documentation, and applying strengths‑based, trauma‑informed approaches in real‑world settings.

    Enrolment Info

    Necessary Documents:

You’ll need to provide valid photo ID (such as a driver’s licence or passport), your Medicare card, and any relevant education or qualification documents. If you’re applying for government funding, additional documentation may be required. Our team will guide you through what’s needed.

    You will need to demonstrate:
    • The ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and meet any industry compliance requirements
    • Language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills suitable for effective communication and basic record-keeping
    • Up-to-date vaccinations or clearances as may be required by some community organisations
    • A genuine passion for helping others and supporting inclusion and wellbeing in your community

    Vocational placement:
    • As part of this course you’ll need to complete a supervised work placement with a community organisation, giving you the chance to apply what you’ve learned in real settings. You’ll support day-to-day activities, assist clients, and develop practical skills that will help you start your career in community services while building confidence, networks, and experience. Placement is normally unpaid but can be completed as part of normal paid employment if the role and tasks are relevant.
