    What you will study

    This course delivers a well-rounded mix of community services and individual support subjects designed to prepare you for real-world care roles. You’ll build strong communication skills and learn how to support people from diverse backgrounds with compassion, professionalism and confidence.

    Training focuses on practical skills for supporting individuals with mental health needs, ageing and dementia, disability, grief and loss, and people experiencing crisis or domestic and family violence. You’ll learn how to provide safe, person-centred care that promotes independence, wellbeing and dignity, while working ethically and within legal and workplace requirements.

    You’ll also gain hands-on knowledge in safe work practices, infection control, understanding the human body, advocacy and client rights, palliative approaches, and working effectively with families, carers and community networks. Together, these subjects prepare you to step into care and support roles ready to make a meaningful difference from day one.

    Necessary Documents:

    You’ll need to provide valid photo ID (such as a driver’s licence or passport), your Medicare card, and any relevant education or qualification documents. If you’re applying for government funding, additional documentation may be required. Our team will guide you through what’s needed.

    You will also need to:
    • Provide or be suitable for a Working with Children Check, National Police check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance
    • Complete a Language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy assessment (completed at induction)
    • Be willing to provide up-to-date vaccinations or immunisations as required by the vocational placement host organisation
    • A genuine passion for helping others and supporting inclusion and wellbeing in your community

    Vocational placement:
    • Your 120 hours of mandatory vocational placement will allow you to put theory into practice in a real workplace environment. You’ll participate in shift routines working alongside experienced professionals, supporting clients, participating in person-centred activities, providing personal care and developing the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce.
