Course Overview

The Introduction to Hospitality Skill Set gives you the practical skills and nationally recognised training to start your career in one of Australia’s most vibrant industries. Over five engaging days, you’ll gain the knowledge and experience to work in bars, restaurants, cafes, and clubs. Along with essential customer service and workplace skills, you'll complete the course with three essential nationally accredited units:

1. SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA)

2. SITHGAM022 Provide responsible gambling services (RSG) and

3. SITXWHS005 Participate in safe work practices.

This hands-on course blends interactive classroom learning with real-world hospitality scenarios, preparing you to deliver great service, work safely, and make a strong first impression with employers. By the end of the program, you’ll be job-ready for entry-level roles across the hospitality and gaming sectors.

    What you will study

    Enrolment Info

    Necessary Documents:
    • Valid proof of identify and proof of residential address to apply for the funding
    • USI (Unique Student Identifier) — create/find at usi.gov.au before enrolment using your legal name
    Intrinsic requirements for hospitality roles include:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Genuine customer-service orientation
    • Ability to stay calm and work in fast paced environments
    • High personal presentation and hygiene awareness
    • LLN suitability for hospitality roles including reading menu's, safety information, recording orders, handling money and measuring
    • Ability to meet role demands (e.g., manual handling, shift/night work)
