You also need to demonstrate:

• A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
• Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (and relevant clearances)
• Language, literacy and numeracy suitable for vocational study and workplace communication
• Up-to-date immunisations may be required by some services

Work placement:

• A supervised vocational placement in an approved early childhood service helps you consolidate skills, build your resume, and make industry connections. You’ll apply theory in practice, from program planning to day-to-day care routines.
