Vocational Education and Training (VET) is nationally recognised learning which is developed to give individuals the knowledge and skills they will need to work in a particular job.
When an individual undertakes VET at school this is referred to as VET in School (VETiS). VETiS can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, at school and during school hours and it can contribute toward academic outcomes of a student’s Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
Those who wish to complete a VETiS qualification at a certificate III level, can do so through a School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT) – funding for a SAT is outlined on our School-based Traineeship funding page.
Strategix works with many schools and offers a wide range of VETiS courses for both funded and Fee For Service options (non-funded), for a fill lis of VETiS qualifications, refer to our schools page.
Fully subsidised training (fee-free)
The Queensland Government provides "VETiS funding" to eligible individuals who are completing VETiS qualifications at a Certificate I and II level which have been deemed a priority skill. For applicable qualifications, VETiS funding will cover the full cost of a course for eligible students.
